Universities in Adelaide are ranked within the top 2% in the world and have produced numerous Nobel Laureates and Rhodes Scholars, leading the world in their various fields of expertise.

Adelaide's three public universities are Flinders University, The University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia. Adelaide is also home to a campus of the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University and Torrens University, a private Australian institution.
